Isabel Gillies portrayed as the late Kathy Stabler, wife of Detective Elliot Stabler. Although Kathy died on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, she has appeared in archive surveillance footage and as a hallucination. Kathy was murdered by Richard and Angela Wheatley when Elliot started interfere into Richard's business in Italy. However, Richard was acquitted from the murder charge due to jury deadlock.

Elliot couldn't sleep so he went to work to review the security cameras the night of the car bombing that killed Kathy. The security footage showed Elliot taking a call, giving Kathy the keys, and her walking to the car when it exploded. While Elliot was shaken by that, he noticed a couple taking a selfie moments before the explosion. He wanted to track them down to find any clues in the selfie pictures.

Elliot sees a figure of a woman walking around from the corner of his eye while at work. He follows her while calling out for her to the interrogation room. Elliot was stunned to find Kathy sitting at the table, wearing a hospital gown. She looked straight ahead and turned her head to see him.

Season 5 2025

In a flashback in Naples 6 years ago, Elliot received a FaceTime call from Kathy. She instantly could tell by the intensity of his eyebrow that he wouldn't be home in time for dinner. Elliot apologized, he lost track of time. The visit with Isabella Spezzano didn't go great as she insisting to make her tough life tougher. Kathy thought Isabella was probably starving - might open up to Elliot by the power of food. Kathy will save a plate for Elliot. They exchanged I Love Yous and blew a kiss to each other before hanging up.
